This is a stunning, heavy ring pin featuring a hand carved dragon and a rhodolite garnet.
Sometimes called penannular pins, these are usually used for heavy tweed wraps, shawls, kilts and ruanas.
I use my own to fasten my Scottish ruana wrap securely at my shoulder. They have been used this way for centuries.

This sturdy pin is made of solid silver with a hand forged silver pin. It weighs well over 30g.
The whole pin is just over 3" in length, making it perfect for even the chunkier tweed.
The dragonette design is from my own imagining, but I have to say I based her "suffer no fools" facial expression on my own horse, who would happily flame you if she could only blow fire!
