Amber Moon. A one of a kind hand made sterling silver and baltic amber pendant. This large piece of amber glows like a golden harvest moon in the sunshine and I just had to make a a magical setting for it. I have surrounded the amber in a hand made sterling silver setting, featuring hand forged flora and fungi, crescent moon and a moongazing hare.
Even if I ever make another similar piece, this gorgeous free-formed amber is not repeateable, I was so lucky to source such a lovely big piece in such an attractive shape and just the right amount of natural inclusions and spangles. It has a few natural surface lines too.
Amber is a very "soft" stone. This means it is more easily damaged than other stones and I recommend that you keep it safe in it's box when you are not wearing it.
Amber is fossilised resin from trees that existed millions of years ago.
Please do not wear it to sleep/ wear in the pool/ hot tub. it is a beatiful piece of nature and should be treated carefully. Amber is very light, and is warm to the touch and is slightly flourescent under UV light. It also floats in salt water, which means it frequently washes up on shorelines as it is dislodged by the sea and swept away by the tides.
