These cufflinks are a little bit special. This is hand cut fordite from the Ford factory in Detroit.
Every piece of fordite is unique, even if I make more of these, each pair will always be different.
Fordite is the leftover paint that builds up in the spray booths when the car panels are painted. This would normally be binned, but when cut and polished it makes fantastic pieces for designing!
These hand cut pieces are wonky ovals, which I have set on sturdy 1mm thick sterling silver backs (hand cut wonky to match the stones) and fitted with custom toggles to make these awesome cufflinks.
Signed on the back with my maker signature and 925.
